Ex-Police Chief indicted over misuse of TBI data base

CROSS PLAINS, Tennessee (WDEF) – A former Cross Plains Police Chief was booked himself on Thursday.

James K. Yates has been indicted for Official Misconduct.

A TBI investigation claims he used the Criminal Justice Portal System to make inquiries that did not have anything to do with a case.

There were several incidents over 17 month period.

He was arrested an booked on $2,500 bond in Robertson County.

Cross Plains is north of Nashville, near the Kentucky border.
