Varnell police still encouraging people to identify stolen goods

VARNELL, Georgia (WDEF) – The Varnell Police Department is still sifting through all the stolen goods found over a week ago in a traffic stop.

They have organized the goods and are letting people who may have had items stolen in to identify what they have.

They are still cataloging the goods and some are being set aside as evidence.

People who can positively identify their stolen goods have been by to pick up what they lost.

Varnell P-D is encouraging people to check their Facebook page for updates on what goods they have.

Chief Lyle Grant tells us “They’re more than welcome to come on bye and identify it in person. Please bring a police report or a report you may have so we can help identify it. We may have to put it off to the side and tag it, put it aside as evidence but if we already have it logged in as evidence we’re more than happy to release it to them.”

The estimated value for all this stuff is well over $175,000 and is still climbing.
