Land’s Restaurant burns overnight in Dunlap
DUNLAP, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Dunlap landmark went up in flames overnight.
Land’s Restaurant caught fire after midnight and burned throughout the morning.
Firefighters originally brought it under control but it flared up again later in the morning.
Fire units from Dunlap, Pikeville and Walden’s Ridge all helped fight the blaze.
The restaurant was owned by Mayor Dwain Land.
But it has operated under several names for more than 50 years on the southside of Dunlap.
It opened in the 1953.
It was called at various times as the Cherokee, the Dairy Bar, and best remembered as the Win-Bob.
