2 charged with throwing rock off I 24 onto truck

MONTEAGLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – Authorities have charged two people with throwing a rock off of an I 24 bridge and seriously injuring a truck driver.

It happened Wednesday night around 8:30 PM.

The rock crashed into the drivers side windshield of the small truck.

The driver was able to pull over.

She was seriously injured, but police say if the suspects had thrown it a second or two earlier, she would have been killed.

Monteagle police found footprints on the bridge an traced them to a juvenile and a 20 year old man.

They have both been charged with reckless endangerment but the charge could be increased.
