Shooting on I-24

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – On Saturday evening, Chattanooga Police responded to 181 I-24 West at the 4th Avenue Exit on a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located Malcom Blessingreen, 30, suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

CPD Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, it was found that Blessingreen and the suspect, Justin Sheppard, 26, knew each other and we’re in the same vehicle.

They exited I-24 prior to the shooting.

Blessingreen was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS. Sheppard was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

The shooting was not related to a road rage incident with another vehicle on I-24.
