Eyes Up campaign pitches human trafficking awareness & hotline
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Second Life Tennessee launches a community initiative to recognize, and report human trafficking.
Eyes Up, is a campaign focused on creating greater public awareness about the Tennessee Human Trafficking Hotline.
It will provide businesses and other organizations throughout the region with the resources and tools to best utilize the hotline, as well as recognize the signs of human trafficking.
Jerry Redman with Second Life Tennessee says “A lot of people who have been trafficked, when you encounter them, they tend not to be able to look you in the eye. Their eyes are down. We use that as a metaphor for the community. We need the community’s eyes up about the issue.”
The campaign intends to show dangerous traffickers that there is strength in numbers as people join the mission to end human trafficking.
