GPS swim team finishes second in state
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Girls Preparatory School (GPS) in Chattanooga finished in second place at the 2023 TISCA State Meet.
This year’s TISCA State Meet was held in Knoxville over two days.
The GPS Bruisers had 204.5 team points total. Their ranking was second only to Ensworth.
GPS was runner up at the meet last year as well. However, this year they got almost 30 points more.
The Bruisers swim team amassed points with nine athletes scoring in ten different events.
Seven athletes finished in the top 10 in various events.
GPS is optimistic about next year’s event, because two scoring divers were freshmen and one was a sophomore.
The top ten schools’ scores were:
- Ensworth – 242
- GPS – 204.5
- Ravenwood – 184
- Harpeth Hall – 172.5
- Father Ryan – 155
- Baylor – 153
- Houston – 137
- Farragut – 108.5
- Brentwood – 97.5
- University School of Nashville – 92
