Murder trial continues for East Ridge case dating back to 2000

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The trial continues for a 45 year old man accused of the 2000 murder of his East Ridge girlfriend.

Today the supervisor for the district attorney’s cold case unit took the stand.

He described how they investigate unsolved cases.

Jason Sanford is accused of killing 21 year old Sarah Perry and dumping the body in a creek.

He was arrested in 2016.

Sanford was charged after the Cold Case unit found evidence against him, and brought him back from Michigan.
