Country Artist Brit Taylor to Play Cherry St. Tavern

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Country music artist Brit Taylor is promoting her new album with a show in downtown Chattanooga this Sunday night.

It’ll be at the Cherry Street Tavern at 8 p.m.

Taylor’s latest album Kentucky Blue came out earlier this month.

She wrote all of the songs on it.

She says you’ll hear a lot of them Sunday night – along with some of the stories behind the lyrics.

“It’s going to be personal. I like to think of my shows as an invitation to my front porch. I just want to invite people in, and get to know people, and let them get to know me,” Taylor said. “I think all the songs that I record have to relate to me in some way. They have to move me in some way. And those are usually the ones that I feel personally attached to. So yeah, they’re all just about pieces of my life, and then I just try to mold them into a good story, and something that other people can relate to, and hum along to, and remember easily.”

Taylor will also be performing at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time on March 22, then she’ll be touring with country artist Brent Cobb.

She recently opened for Blackberry Smoke, who will be playing at Riverbend Festival in June.
