KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — There is an interesting sight for those driving on I-640 East in Knox County on Monday. Drivers may see the plethora of traffic safety barrels in a field by the roadway.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is attempting to spread awareness on the importance of driving safely in work zones.

This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week.
So, the TDOT displayed 113 barrels near the I-40 split and Western Avenue in Knox County.
These barrels represent the 113 TDOT workers who died in the line of duty.
