Police update on one of multiple weekend shootings
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police made an arrest in connection to a shooting that took place on Sunday. According to police, the shooting happened at 1200 Peeples Street.
On Monday, officers of the Fugitive Division arrested Reginald Jamell Holland, who they suspect was the shooter.
Ashley Coyne was a victim of the shooting. She went to a local hospital on Sunday night and eventually succumbed to her injuries.
Police responded shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
A witness told police that Holland was arguing with another man. And as the other man attempted to leave, Holland pulled out a gun and shot into the second man’s car. Coyne was a passenger in that car, and got shot.
Chattanooga Police obtained warrants for Holland on first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
The police department said they are booking Holland into the Silverdale Detention Center.
