Vols Jabari McGhee Will Miss Rest of the Year With Foot Injury

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee forward Jabari McGhee will miss the rest of the season as he recovers from a foot injury that has kept him from playing since mid-December.
Volunteers coach Donnie Tyndall said Friday that he plans to redshirt McGhee, a 6-foot-8 freshman from Albany, Georgia. Tyndall said he thinks McGhee has a "bright future" and that "I don’t want to jeopardize one year over three, four, five games."
McGhee fractured his right foot Dec. 17 in an 83-72 loss to North Carolina State. He underwent surgery two days later.
McGhee played eight games and averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 12.9 minutes.
Tennessee (14-11, 6-7 SEC) plays at Ole Miss (18-8, 9-4) on Saturday.
