Our Journey of Hope Honoring Cancer Survivors Saturday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- One organization will be helping out cancer survivors this weekend.

Our Journey of Hope is a ministry that aims to give comfort to cancer patients.

The Chattanooga Chapter, based out of Tucker Missionary Baptist Church in Brainerd, will be hosting a symposium tomorrow in recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day.

There will be free cancer, lung, and blood pressure screenings along with stress tests given.

Charlaine Price, with Our Journey of Hope and a cancer survivor herself, said, “To let others know who are suffering with cancer that there is a life after cancer, that there is a reason to not have to be depressed, or feel ashamed to own their diagnosis.:

This will be one of many similar events across the country.

There will also be food, entertainment, and door prizes at the event.

The event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Tucker Missionary Baptist Church across from Brainerd High School on North Moore Road.
