TECH BYTE: Apple Introduces New VR Headset

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Apple just announced a ton of new products at the Worldwide Developers conference.

But one in particular was definitely the most popular.

Virtual reality has been around for a while, but Apple is taking it to the next level.

The Apple Vision Pro is a VR headset, and what the tech company is calling its first “Spatial Computer.”

The device is controlled with just your hands, and your eyes. No additional controllers needed.

It does this by using tons of small cameras and infrared sensors around the headset to track your movement.

Apple says that Vision Pro will feature a 23-million-pixel high-res display, and will use their M2 silicon chip to ensure everything you see happens in real-time.

The device can be used in a variety of ways – from work, to FaceTiming your family, and much more.

It can even transform your space into a personal movie theater with a virtual screen that feels a hundred feet wide.

Apple says you can even grow beyond the dimension of the room with the Immersive Environments feature.

You can feel like you’re relaxing in a beautiful landscape while in the comfort of your own home.

Vision Pro will even have its own app store with tons of familiar apps, as well as new ones catered to the virtual experience.

The headset will start off at about $3,500, and will be available early next year.
