Tennessee American Water unveils new pier at Camp Jordan

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Tennessee American Water and the City of East Ridge welcomed a new fishing pier at Camp Jordan on June 10.

The American Water Charitable Foundation funded $250,000 for the project.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place in Camp Jordan along the new pier.

Families celebrated with a free fishing rodeo organized by the East Ridge Optimist Club.

President of Tennessee American Water Grant Evitts said, “I’m excited for the reason that Tennessee American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation were able to get together and help provide this to partner with the city of East Ridge.”

The fishing rodeo happens each year with activities for kids to participate in and win prizes.

“Biggest fish” and “Most fish caught” were just some of the awards given out.

“You can’t help but smile and know that this is going to be enjoyed by a lot of people,” Evitts said.

The new addition is located at Jack Dickert Memorial Pond.
