STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Tennessee man who already held the state record for blue catfish just broke his own record.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) said the man caught the record catfish on Barkley Reservoir in Stewart County, Tennessee.

Micka Burkhart caught the large fish, which weighed 122 pounds, 3 ounces. It was 57.5 inches long, according to the TWRA.

Burkhart held the record for blue catfish, which was 118 pounds from the same spot. Then on June 28, 2023, he caught this one, which exceeded the former record.

The TWRA processed the new record on July 11.
