HCOEM recognized as ‘Weather Ready Nation Ambassador’

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The National Weather Service recognized the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (HCOEM) as a “Weather Ready Nation Ambassador.”

Weather Ready Nation Ambassadors strengthen partnerships with local organizations and community in the face of increasing vulnerability during extreme weather and water events.

HCOEM created several ways to notify the public in case of weather disaster.

This includes partnerships with local businesses and churches in Hamilton County.

Emergency officials said it is an honor to be recognized for educating and training the community.

“The National Weather Services acknowledged us that we have and continue to work without community to continue to make Hamilton County a form of resilience and help encourage emergency preparedness,” said Amy Maxwell, HCOEM Public Relations Manager.

Weather Ready Nation Ambassadors will serve as change agents and leaders in their community.
