Chattanoogans Go Green For St Patrick’s Day Celebrations
Families lined the streets as the parade made its way past the downtown IMAX and Chattanooga aquarium.
Heidi Long, "My parents are from the backwoods of Kentucky I am certain there is some Irish descent somewhere, I guess its important."
Chattaahooligans also took part along with animal rights and dog supporters.
Some dogs even dressed up for the occasion.
Shannon Holcomb,"It means a lot to them they get a little bit of doggy beer and party a little bit."
The parade also featured jockeys and a airplanes
While hundreds turned out for St Patrick’s day in Chattanooga, it is also a day of celebration for diversity here in the Scenic City.
Susan Mangan,"Big parade, St Patrick’s day is very very special."
"It means you go wear green and you get pinched bro," added Cristian Alvarez.
The event was organized by the Shamrock Society.
Proceeds from the parade go to Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block.
The parade ended at Renaissance Park
