Equipment operator escapes tractor fire in Ooltewah
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — A tractor caught on fire Thursday while driving down a road in Ooltewah.
The Tri Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire around 2 p.m.
In the 5500 block of Old Hunter Road, firefighters found a tractor entirely on fire.
The person operating the tractor got out safely and did not sustain injuries, according to the fire department.
Crews also closed the roadway for a while because of the fire.
Firefighters extinguished the tractor fire and the fire that had spread to nearby grass.
The equipment has been recovered from the roadway as well.
