Man arrested in Apison following standoff with SWAT

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County authorities called in SWAT Thursday morning to an assault and barricaded person.

The sheriff’s office said the incident happened at 11 a.m. on Jackson Road in Apison.

Deputies received a call of an assault at that house. When they arrived, deputies found an involved man had barricaded himself in the house. He was refusing to comply, according to the sheriff’s office.

That is when authorities called in SWAT and a hostage negotiation team, who used OC gas and flash bangs in attempt to get the man to surrender.

Four hours later, Hamilton County authorities safely took the man into custody.

They identified that man as Jonathan Erik Allen. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said Allen is facing numerous charges.
