Limited Tickets Still Available for Moon River Festival
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — This weekend marks year five for the Moon River Music Festival in Chattanooga.
Event founder Drew Holcomb touts another great lineup this year, which includes Marcus King, Nickel Creek, and Hozier.
Even Chattanooga’s Larry Fleet, and Calhoun, Georgia’s Larkin Poe are doing sets.
“There’s a lot of bands that can be headlining on their own,” Holcomb said. “So, it’s really fun to have sort of a stacked deck this year. I think that’s why it sold out so quickly. It was, I think, our second fastest sellout in the decade, so clearly something about this lineup resonated with our fans, and people are excited to come and see all these different bands.”
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors will also continue their tradition of performing at the event, but this year they’re changing things up to include husband and wife duo Johnnyswim.
“We started doing this collaborative project together back in 2018,” Holcomb said. “We did a whole tour. We made a five song EP that we wrote and recorded together. And then coming out of COVID, we actually had just started recording a second one when everything kind of went crazy, and we had to wait a whole year, actually 15 months to get in the studio and record it and put it out, and early last year, in the middle of ’22, and it’s another five song EP. So, we kind of do a mixture of their songs, my songs, and then the songs we did together, and it’s a very fun, very different show. A lot of people on stage, so it’s a good time.”
Holcomb told News 12 they’ll also play some songs from their latest album, Strangers No More.
His wife and fellow singer, Ellie Holcomb, will even make an appearance.
The festival initially sold out, but there are limited tickets available here.
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors will continue to stay busy after Moon River wraps up.
They just finished the summer touring with Darius Rucker all over the country.
“We have three days off after Moon River, and then we start a headline tour that goes from September 14 to late October, and then we go out for eight days in November with the Head and the Heart, who are some Moon River alums,” Holcomb said.
Drew and Ellie Holcomb have also already announced their annual Christmas shows for later this year.
“We’ve been doing these two Christmas shows – one in Nashville, one in Memphis – for almost 15 years now,” he said. “It’s become kind of a family tradition for us, and for our fans, and the Nashville one’s almost sold out. Those are fun shows.”
You can get tickets to any of those shows featuring Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors here.
