Police Asking for Help Solving Georgia Cold Case
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Carrollton, Georgia Police Department is asking for Chattanoogans help in solving a missing person’s cold case.
Brian Wehrle was living in Atlanta in September 2009 with his partner at the time and was traveling to Carrollton to take care of his parent’s estate in probate hearings.
He was staying alone at his parent’s house while in Carrollton.

The second day of those hearings, Wehrle never showed up, and no one has been able to contact him since.
Three months later in December 2009, his mother’s car was found stolen in Chattanooga at the corner of North Chamberlain Avenue and Judson Lane with a different tag.
Outside of that discovery, very few clues have surfaced in Wehrle’s disappearance.
Sergeant Meredith Browning, the public affairs officer for the Carrollton Police Department, said, “We are not aware of any issues that he had with anybody, and the reason we suspect foul play especially at this point is there has been no sightings, nothing on his bank records, his cell phone was left behind.”
Sergeant Browning added that his family at this point, while hopeful that they can find Wherle, are mostly looking for closure at this point.
She asks the public if you remember anything suspicious from 20-09, or know of anything potentially connected to this case now, contact Chattanooga Police.
