One driver dies in Highway 58 crash

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A fatal crash occurred on Highway 58 on Thursday, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

It happened just before 3 p.m. on the 11400 block of the highway.

According to authorities, a gray Dodge truck was traveling northbound, and a red Chevrolet truck was hauling a trailer, going southbound.

They explained that the Dodge truck crossed the center line for unknown reasons and struck the Chevrolet and trailer.

Life Force transported the driver of the Dodge to a hospital in critical condition. The HCSO said that man later died from his injuries.

However, authorities said the driver of the Chevrolet did not sustain any injuries.

The sheriff’s office said they are temporarily withholding the name of the driver until notification of next-of-kin.
