Suspect indicted for using a pipe bomb on an ATM
ATF agents say they found more pipe bombs at his home
DECATUR, Ga. (WDEF) – A grand jury in Georgia has indicted a Decatur man with blowing up an ATM last March.
Prosecutors say Abdurrahim Jalal set off a pipe bomb around 3 a.m. at the Bank of America ATM.
They say he took about $88,000 from the machine after the blast.
When ATF agents raided him home later, they confiscated eight more pipe bombs like the one used on the ATM.
“The unlawful use and possession of explosives creates a grave danger to our citizens and first responders who must risk their lives to respond to these violent crimes,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan.
