Fired SETHRA Bus Driver Liz Freeman Takes First Steps In Appeal Process
Liz was flanked by her sister and passengers from Cleveland at SETHRA HQ in Dunlap Thursday afternoon.
Freeman believes she deserves her job back.
"I cant not be who i am, i think the world is getting too hard and i think we need to be softer with each other and love each other even with all of our differences and that includes animals to me."
1700 people from more than a dozen countries across the world signed a petition in support of Liz including her biggest supporter, her sister.
Melissa Miller, Liz’s Sister,"I don’t think this was a fireable offense by any means maybe a slap on the wrist a warning would have been sufficient i think they didn’t show any compassion for her like she was showing the dogs."
Liz spent more than 30 minutes in the appeal process here at SETHRA HQ and officials for the organization say they will take everything into account including the 1700 people who signed a petition in support of her.
Chris Kleehammer, Assistant Exec Director for SETHRA,"Did not complete the route, she was terminated, she requested an interview to talk about an appeal which we just did today, we have not made any decision on that."
Liz believes she will be told more about the appeal in 4 days and thanks all those who support her.
