Couple arrested after deputies raid their Dayton motel room

DAYTON, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Rhea County Sheriff reports that two people were arrested after a search of their room at a local motel.

Deputies searched the room at America’s Best Value in Dayton on Wednesday.

They were arresting James Dylan Smith on active warrants for a probation violation and for criminal impersonation.

The sheriff says that while the officers were there, they found drugs, a gun and cash in the room.

They seized the following:

  • Fentanyl- 21.4 grams (214 sales of Fentanyl with a street value of $4280)
  • Methamphetamine -57.4 gams (287 sales of Methamphetamine with a street value of $5740)
  • Marijuana- 20.1 grams (20 Marijuana sales with a street value of $200)
  • Hi-Point semi auto 9mm caliber pistol $239 in US Currency

Smith and Chloe Renee Everett were both arrested.

The sheriff says Smith has been convicted of aggravated burglary before and was on probation for meth possession.
