Firefighters respond to Middle Valley Road brush fire on Saturday

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue responded to a brush fire Saturday afternoon in Hixson.

Firefighters were dispatched to a woods fire at 7328 Middle Valley Road at 4:43 p.m.

Upon arrival, the woods fire had spread to a barn.

Chattanooga Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential fire on their portion of Little Sorrel Road, which turned out to be the same fire.

They responded an engine company and protected the homes in the rear of Stonewall Farms both in the County and City portions.

Both Soddy Daisy Fire Department and Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the brush fire with their brush units.

Unfortunately the barn was a total loss, but the fire was prevented from reaching any homes.

There were no injuries.

Response included companies from all three Dallas Bay stations, and our Tri-State Mutual Aid Association partners CFD, SDFD, and Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department.

All departments involved would like to remind everyone that fire risk is extreme currently and all burning should be avoided.
