Sale Creek Community Mourns Tragic Death of 9 Year Old Timothy Wallace

The Wallace  family spent Monday grieving and retracing the steps of 9 year old Timothy.

Timothy’s grandmother tells News 12 he loved to run and was too fast for anyone to catch him.

Investigators combed the Leggett Road area Sunday once the 911 call was received.

Janice Atkinson, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office,"He suffered from autism, he was not verbal, they were actively searching for him along with the Sale Creek fire department, they did notify Stars."

Timothy was found near this railroad crossing off Coulterville road less than 5 miles from his aunt’s Leggett Road home.

Neighbors also joined in the three hour search.

Cynthia Hammontree,"I heard screaming and crying last night saying please god no, next thing we know there was ambulances and cops and all that."

Timothy’s Dunlap based mother carrying flowers was escorted by family members to the rail line Monday afternoon.

Timothy’s father is currently in jail and family members tell News 12 they hope he will be allowed out for his son’s funeral.
