Fight breaks out in front of Hamilton County Juvenile Court

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A fight broke out in front of the Hamilton County Juvenile Court on Thursday.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fight at about 1:20 p.m. at 1600 East 3rd Street. The altercation happened on the front steps of the courthouse.

The sheriff’s office said the fight was between family members of a suspect and victim in a homicide case.

Between 10 and 12 people were involved in the fight.

Deputies said they quickly dispersed the altercation.

Sheriff’s deputies also tased one person involved. They said this is because he was about to hit another person despite deputies telling him to stop.

Hamilton County EMS medically cleared the people involved.

Neither group pressed charges.

However, the person who was tased also cited with a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.

Authorities then told everyone involved to leave the area.
