Hamilton County Commission approves funds for Heritage Center

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County commission approved $400,000 for the Medal of Honor Heritage Center

Half of that money will be used to create an exhibit for Captain Larry Taylor

Capt. Taylor received the Medal of Honor back in September. Afterwards, the City of Chattanooga held a welcome home parade for him.

He is also the 33rd Tennessean to receive the United States’ highest military award.

“We use the Medal of Honor stories and Larry Taylor is just the latest that we’re going to be telling here at the Heritage Center, to help children and visitors understand that each of us can make a difference. We just have to have the values to take that action and set those steps,” said Vince Butler, with the Medal of Honor Heritage Center.

The Heritage Center hopes to have Larry Taylor’s exhibit finished by 2024.
