Several people sent to hospital after morning interstate wreck

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A crash Tuesday morning at the I-24 and I-75 split sent several people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Chattanooga Police said the wreck involved a semi-truck.

Thankfully, nobody was killed.

But the crash did shut down several lanes just before noon.

“We were advised that there were multiple vehicles involved. One of those vehicles being a semi-truck. The preliminary investigation tells us that there was one vehicle that appeared to be speeding, and the traffic was slowing due to construction at the split. So, that vehicle struck a vehicle and pushed that vehicle into a semi-truck,” said Chattanooga Police Sgt. Victor Miller.
