Bethlehem Center hosts Children Christmas Shopping at Walmart
LOOKOUT VALLEY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Bethlehem Center took their students Christmas shopping Thursday morning at Walmart.
It is part of their “Read to Lead” program where kids earn money to shop.
Students were able to buy items for themselves or their family members for Christmas.
The Bethlehem Center has been doing Christmas Shopping with the kids for more than 20 years.
“This event is very very important because during trips and holidays we want our young people to be able to experience all the fun and joy just like every other town,” said Reginald Smith II, Executive Director of Bethlehem Center. “We are in the process of teaching gratitude and other different life skills. We want them to be able to utilize those skills and execute those skills while having fun during the Christmas holidays.”
More than 40 children participated in the shopping spree this year.
