Pops on the River kicks off
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga is celebrating in a special way today at Coolidge Park.
The entire nation is gearing up for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence.
Pops on the River starts at 6PM Thursday with live bands and entertainment. That was pushed back from their previous 4PM start time.
The Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra will be performing, and Outdoor Chattanooga says they have some surprises up their sleeves.
Monica Kinsey, Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors Deputy Administrator told us, “We have added a few little extras for some surprises along the way with some local artists as well as some additional surprises within the finale firework show as well as with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. We have a flyover at 8:15 and we’re excited for everyone to come out.”
Fireworks start at about 9:45, with a jet flyover and symphony serenade to precede. And yes, it’s going to be hot.
