Hang glider crashes into tree in Dunlap
DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — A hang glider crash landed and got stuck in a tree on Monday in Dunlap, according to the fire department.
The Dunlap Fire Department responded to help the hang glider just before 3 p.m. CT on February 5.
The man got stuck in a tree off East Valley Road.
An unexpected shift in the wind caused him to hit the trees instead of the pasture, the fire department explained.
They say he was not injured.
Firefighters rigged a system to lower the man to the ground.
“The individual was an experienced rock climber and was able to tie himself off to DVFD provided ropes,” the fire department added.
Additionally, Puckett EMS and Sequatchie County deputies responded to help.
