CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – All cities have issues with the homeless, but Chattanooga definitely seems to take a kinder, more generous approach to the issue.

From the Salvation Army and their free Super Bowl watch party last Sunday to the Chattanooga Rescue mission’s special Valentine’s dinner.

The organization will hold the Valentine’s service Tuesday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“It’s going to be a great event tonight, we will open our doors for the banquet at 5:30. It’s an opportunity to express love to our people, many hard circumstances of life, many difficult challenges they face. And our theme is love one another, and that’s what we are seeking to do,” said Donald Bear, director of the Chattanooga Rescue Mission.

Taking care of our communities means looking after some of our citizens that are the least able to look after themselves.

And that spirit of giving and generosity really shines through the efforts of organizations like The Chattanooga Rescue Mission.
