Sheriff: Signal Mountain student charged with making violent threats
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A student is facing charges for making threats against other students at Signal Mountain Middle/High School.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said the school’s SRD learned of the threat on Wednesday, February 28, at 10 a.m.
Authorities said this threat included a list of names.
The sheriff’s office said the SRD then began investigating and concluded there was not an active threat against any students at that time.
However, the SRD is identifying names of students on the list and contacting their parents.
The HCSO said they are charging the student responsible with making threats of mass violence on school property.
No identifying information will be released due to the situation pertaining juveniles.
