Library shows kids how to make pies on Pi Day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Public Library celebrated National Pi Day on Thursday.
National Pi Day commentates the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle, which is roughly 3.14.
The Public Library took the chance to educate several children on both Pi and how to make pies.
They say the combination provides a tasty way to teach new skills.
Emma Whisnant, of the Chattanooga Public Library, said, “It’s just a great way to practice a new skill of cooking and baking. We talk about measuring. We do some good fine motor control with pinching the dough. Putting the ingredients together. Just all kinds of new skills they can practice here.”
There are at least 62.8 trillion digits in the number Pi.
