TVA seeking public’s input on what to do with downtown office
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Valley Authority is looking to get a new Chattanooga office space and ditch the old one.
Tuesday evening, they held a public input session at Miller Plaza to see what the community wants done with the old space.
TVA has used the current office complex on Market Street since the early 1980s.
However, they now have far fewer employees working in this space.
TVA wants to downsize into a smaller and more modern complex.
Currently, the company has four options on what can be done with this 1.4 million square-foot building.
Those options are:
- Take no action and remain in this space.
- Demolish the building and sell the land.
- Sell the building and land as is.
- Keep some of the office space and sell some of it.
Those who could not make it out to the community input session can still give their input online.
