Woman dies after I-24 hit-and-run in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A woman died in a hit-and-run crash in Marion County on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

It happened on March 30 between 3:45 and 4:30 a.m.

The woman was a pedestrian on I-24 East on Monteagle Mountain. A car hit the woman and fled the scene without notifying law enforcement.

Tennessee State Troopers later located the woman on April 1.

Now, the THP is asking for the public’s help. They ask anyone who witnessed the crash or knows where the driver is to contact THP investigators.
