Thousands still without power at noon from storms

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Thousands of customers are still out of power in our area from the storms.
This is the update from several area power companies at noon.
The Electric Power Board reports that there are almost ten thousand customers still without power.
The worst hit areas are Soddy Daisy, Signal Mountain, Middle Valley and Collegedale.
The Sequachee Valley Electric Co-op serves the valley and plateau areas. They have about 3,000 people out of power. That includes Cartright and South Pittsburg in the Valley.
But the major outages are in Grundy County. There are 2,300 people out just between Altamont, Coalmont and Gruetli-Laager.
Volunteer Electric serves several counties in southeast Tennessee.
They have over 10,000 people without power across their coverage area at noon.
Their worst hit areas are in Bradley, Hamilton and Polk counties.
Georgia Power reported that there are still outages in Trenton and Chickamauga.
But the worst hit area is a strip from Dalton to Chatsworth and over the mountain in Ellijay.
They have 2,400 customers out in just that zone.
Northeast Alabama went through a couple of tornado warnings during the night.
On Thursday, NAEC reports they still have more than three hundred outages, mostly in Jackson County.
