One dead after officer involved shooting in Hickman County
HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) agents are investigating the circumstances leading to an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday in Hickman County in the 2100 block of Old Beaver Creek Road.
According to the TBI, deputies with the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop.
A struggle began between deputies and a man, James Heggie, in the front passenger seat.
The reason for the struggle is still under investigation.
TBI says multiple officers fired their weapons striking Heggie.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.
