Birchwood house fire displaces 8 residents
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A fire destroyed a home Thursday morning in the Birchwood area. This has displaced eight people from their home, according to county officials.
Drivers saw the heavy, black smoke coming from the home and called 911 at around 7:30 this morning.
The two-story house was located at 6526 Anderson Acres Drive.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by around 8:40 a.m., according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management (HCOEM).
They said there were no reported injuries. However, Hamilton County EMS was on scene to treat the family who may have suffered smoke inhalation.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire and determine the damages. The home was 4,000 square feet and a total loss.
American Red Cross will assist the family of eight, which includes five adults and three children, with their emergency needs.
