CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — If you’re making the trip back after the 4th of July holiday, be aware of upcoming road closures on I-24.
TDOT will be setting beams on the South Moore Road and McBrien Road bridges as part of their latest project. This leads to nightly road closures on the interstate.
Only one direction of I-24 will be closed at a time.
After 30 minutes, traffic will be allowed to clear before starting another closure.
This work starts Monday, July 8 at 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
It will resume Wednesday, July 10 at the same time.
The contractor will use rolling roadblocks to pace traffic on I-24 to set the new bridge beams.
As always, you can visit TDOT’s Smartway cameras and app for the latest information.
