How did the tech outage impact Chattanooga Airport?

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — After looking at how the global computer outage is impacting companies around the world. Airlines are still having issues as many flights are still being cancelled or having lengthy delays.

But how did it impact us here in Chattanooga?

At the Chattanooga Airport they are experiencing the same issue every airport is having across the world as they are unable connect with their computer systems.

“There were things happening everywhere, you know, Europe, Australia, everything else, and they didn’t know when it would come back up and they said that a couple of times and fortunately at least for American (Airlines) about thirty to forty-five minutes later it started coming back online. Then they hustled to get everyone on the planes and get them out of the airport,” said American Airline passenger, Robert Benson.

While some airports were able to get things back up and running after a few hours, airlines at the Chattanooga airport such as Delta and Allegiant have delayed flights until further notice and United Airlines canceled their flights in Chattanooga for the day. But thankfully many airlines have been able to figure it out.
