Community Gathers at Coolidge Park to Mark 34th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act
Friday, July 26th marked the 34th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the community came together for a celebration at Coolidge Park.
The event featured a variety of vendors and service agencies dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.
Mayor Tim Kelly took the stage to read a special proclamation acknowledging the law’s importance.
“To recognize and support our fellow residents with disabilities and their unique needs, and their special interests and special talents in witness whereof we have a seal of the city of Chattanooga the first day in July of 2024 thank you” said Mayor Tim Kelly
More than 40 million Americans live with some form of disability.
