CPD opens applications for community police academy

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police announced they have opened applications for their community police academy.

Applications opened August 1, 2024, you can submit an application to be apart of this academy.  Applications close August 28, 2024.

This will take place every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting September 5, 2024 and ending October 31, 2024.

The academy will be held at the Police Services Center, located at 3410 Amnicola Highway.

Participants will get the opportunity to see how officers operate behind the scenes including driving simulators, K-9 handling demonstrations.

To apply, go to CPD’s website and fill out the application.  Once you’ve filled it out, submit it to cpdcommunityoutreach@chattanooga.gov or you can drop it off in person at the Police Services Center.
