Officer involved shooting at Monroe County Justice Center

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating an officer involved shooting at the Monroe County Justice Center.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, a man fired shots in the parking lot of the justice center.
The man then began to approach the building, fired more shots, and then entered through the front door.
He was confronted by a deputy who fired shots and struck the individual.
It was later determined the suspect died at a local hospital.
No one else sustained injuries during the incident.
TBI is on scene investigating, more updates will come as information becomes available.
