First Jewish Food Festival, ‘Nosh-a-Nooga’ heads to Chattanooga

News 12 This Morning: Ann Treadwell and Randi Weiss with the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga join News 12’s Amelia Greer to preview the inaugural event and some traditional Jewish dishes that will be featured at Nosh-a-Nooga this weekend.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Get ready to nosh on some great Jewish cuisine this weekend!

The first-ever Jewish Food Festival is heading to the Waterhouse Pavilion this Sunday, August 18.

‘Nosh-a-Nooga’ kicks off at noon and will last until around 2:00 p.m.

At this event, guests will have the opportunity to taste a variety of traditional Jewish dishes. Taste tickets are available online!

From iconic dishes like challah to matzo ball soup, folks will be immersed in the Jewish culture as they walk through the pavilion.

Each of the foods will include a brief history behind the dish. Traditional bakers and chefs will be available to talk more about the food.

The event aims to celebrate Jewish culture within our community and to educate others about these traditions.
