Paddle race held in September to raise funds for pancreatic cancer

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An annual paddle race is planning to paint the river purple in Chattanooga this September.

The 5th annual Paddle for PanCan 5K is rallying up kayakers and paddle boarders to raise money for pancreatic cancer.

In addition to this fundraiser, other local organizations are partnering to bring awareness about the deadly disease.

The Chattanooga Lookouts will be holding an event to ‘strike out’ pancreatic cancer on September 1 at AT&T Field.

Paddle for PanCAN 5K will be held on September 14 starting at the Suck Creek Boat Launch and go upriver towards Williams Island.

Registration is $40 and will include a T-shirt that will be provided on the day of the race.
