Chattanooga Police respond to fatal crash on Wilcox Boulevard

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga Police (CPD) is investigating a fatal crash on Wilcox Boulevard.

CPD stated on September 2, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., they were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle.

Officers arrived at 3800 block of Wilcox Boulevard to find the motorcycle operator with life-threatening injuries.

Hamilton County EMS transported him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

CPD’s Traffic Unit conducted this investigation.

Preliminary information reveals the motorcyclist was traveling west on Wilcox Boulevard while a Chrysler 200 was going east, waiting to turn left into Eastwood Manor.

When the driver made the turn, the motorcyclist wasn’t able to avoid the crash, and struck the passenger side of the Chrysler.

The driver didn’t report any injures.
